The Blue Jays have hung a FOR SALE sign on Roy Halliday, and Dodger fans are clamoring for a trade to be made. Let me suggest that it’s not that simple, and the price we would have to pay would be the blood of our first-born, Clayton Kershaw! I will say right off that I [...]

First, I hope everyone had a happy 4th of July, but I suspect DRomo had the best. What a day to be able to celebrate your daughter’s birthday! Congratulations!

That mighty buzz-saw that was the Colorado Rockies rolled into LA, thinking they would no longer be the Dodgers “whipping boys.” The Dodgers had lost two in a row and the offense was woeful. There were also whispers about the Dodgers pitching being on the wane. Well, the boys would have nothing of that, and [...]

Hey, I agree that Juan Pierre deserves to play every day, and any MLB team could use another starter, but what are the Dodgers willing to pay for something we really don’t need that badly? Billingsley, Kuroda, Wolf, Kershaw, and Milton could be the best staff in the NL by August. Also, by August, Matt Kemp could be injured [...]

On July 3rd, the Dodgers will still probably have a substantial lead in the NL West, at which time they will get two additional All-Stars for their lineup: Manny Ramirez and Andre Ethier. We all know Manny has been gone, but so has the Andre Ethier who hit behind Manny. With Manny in the lineup, [...]

For the past few days, people have been speculating as to what is wrong with Russell Martin, whether he is finished, why is he so bad, etc., and so I am going weigh in with a couple of things: Some say it is overuse. PLEASE! This guy is in great shape and has played 122, 129, [...]

The Dodgers have done exactly that. They have seized the day. In a NL West division, that “they” said was said to be incredibly weak (“they” are generally wrong), the Dodgers have just kept up their winning ways and still sit seven ames atop the NL West with less than 20 games remaining in That [...]

Just a few things to think about: Logan White does it again! He drafts a stud hitter and turns him into a pitcher (Aaron Miller). I think he has a pretty good track record on this, and a LH with a 90+ fastball is not something that dangles from trees. Nice to se the Dodgers [...]

6/08/09 – by Tom O’Shea aka/Lawdog THE ALBUQUERQUE ISOTOPES AAA ISOTOPES lose 5-4. The Isotopes were beaten by Oklahoma City 5-4 despite the masterful pitching of James MCDONALD (4..24), and THREETS (H, 1.86) as STRICKLAND (BS, 1) (0-1, 5.09) gave up 4 runs in the 9th to literally give away a game that by all [...]

Great Lakes Loons – Low A The Loons lost 6-4 without much fanfare, but it is worth noting that since May 1, Ethan Martin’s ERA is near 7.00. Last night he pitched 4 innings, giving up 5 hits and 6 runs and raising his over ERA to 4.43. Not what he expected. Not what we [...]

In 1988 we had Dave Anderson, Mike Davis, Pedero Guerrero, Rick Dempsey, Tracy Wooden, Danny Heap and the head stuntman, Mickey Hatcher. This year it’s Juan Pierre, Juan Castro, Xavier Paul, Doug Mientkiewicz, Mark Loretta and Brad Ausmus. They currently go by the name “Bomb Squad,” but I think that “The Stuntmen” are back. Bomb Squad may be more 2009, but The Stuntmen are timeless.
