The Yankees need pitching. No big secret here. The Yankees can afford to spend more millions. No secret there either. Derek Lowe would be a big boon to their rotation. For that matter, Loaiza could also help. How about Yency Brazoban in the pen? Yeah, the Yanks need that too. How bad do you want starters New York? Would you give us Austin Jackson & Jose Tabata for them? OK. We’ll do it, but you have to take Andruw Jones as well.

We could then take a combination of Tabata, Jackson, Meloan, DeWitt, Ethier, Loaiza and Pierre and easily parlay that into say, Adrian Beltre and Adam Dunn, or some similar player.

How would this Lineup look:

1. Furcal  SS
2. Pierre  CF
3. Kemp  RF
4. Loney  1B
5. Kent  2B
6. Dunn  LF
7. Beltre  3B
8. Martin C

Derek Lowe should never be allowed to pitch at Coors field again! He has allowed15 earned runs in 12 1/3 innings in his past three starts there (10.95 ERA)! Just skip him in the rotation next time. 51 pitches in the 1st inning? That’s insane. The fact that he settled down and pitched 4 pretty good innings shows that 90% of his problem is 100% mental!
