We have discontinued our affiliation with the Top 100 Baseball website ratings because they are not accurate and can be and are actually being manipulated. The ratings are worthless! More than that, they are bogus!

I discovered this yesterday when some websites were running up their numbers by repeatedly clicking on their sites of the Top 100 ranking Icon. We ran our raking up to #2 yesterday by repeatedly clicking on the site just like they were doing.

To our amazement, we found that most other sites were doing the exact same thing - repeated visits (in the hundreds) from the same IP address gives it away. Their rankings are bogus!

The ranking system is worthless unless there is some sort of filter for stopping the repeated clicks to increase the rankings. So, we will just go back to giving you the best posts we can and leave the rankings to the amateurs!

Blake “Rake” (because he does) DeWitt continues to impress. He had 2 hits and tried to run over the catcher last night. I think he might have let up a little being a rookie and all, but next time I think he’ll bulldoze the catcher! I loved the play, however. This now begs the question: What do we do with Andy LaRoche? DeWitt deserves to play. So does LaRoche. Who plays? It’s hard to argue with Blake’s success. It’s hard to discount LaRoche’s power. Is LaRoche “injury-prone” or has he just had a couple of bad breaks? Is DeWitt a late bloomer and is he finally “gettting it” or is he playing over his head because no one has scouted him?

I want to know and so do you. I think that Hu will go back to AAA as soon as we sign Juan Castro, which could be any day now.

• Will we sign Castro?
• Will Hu play SS or 2B at Vegas?
• Will we re-sign Furcal or take the picks and play HU at SS next year?
• Could we just let DeWitt continue to play 3B and see if continues his impressive ways?
• Could we take a long-term view and ask Andy LaRoche to go to Vegas and learn to play 2B?
• Could we see an infield of DeWitt, Hu, LaRoche and Loney next year?
• Should we just hand the 3B job to LaRoche and send DeWitt back to Vegas?
