Actual lineup. Ethier instead of Pierre. Pretty good job Mark. I certainly can live with Ethier in the lineup. Same lineup two nights in a row?

    Furcal, SS
    Ethier, LF
    Kemp, RF
    Kent, 2B
    Martin, C
    Loney, 1B
    Jones, CF
    DeWitt, 3B
    Billingsley, P

    GO DODGERS!!

Ethier made his first sacrifice bunt to set up Kemp’s 2-run single. Without Ethier’s bunt, the runs don’t score.

Little things like that impress me.

    That wasn’t a “soft” play!

C-Bill survived his “meltdown” and pitched well

    Kemp delivered

    Martin delivered

    Loney delivered

    Raffy keeps it up.

    Nice win!

5 two out RBI. I like that too. Also Loney a triple after Matin walked to get at him a second time. That’s gotta make James mad.

Matt keeps getting into trouble on the bases but at least Ethier scored on it. As good as another RBI. Matt is aggressive.

Well Mark. What do we do about Dewitt? I am only following the game on computer so can’t see his AB’s. He doesn’t seem to strikeout much.

Make that 8 two out RBI.

    Harold,

Tomorrows column is on Blake DeWitt.

You’ll see what I have to say soon.

3 quick grand slams and the Marlins are right back in this thing!

Mark, I think Blake has turned your head. As much as I like Andy’s HR potential, I figure the job is Blake’s until he loses it or Andy takes it. This is one of those interesting stories no one could see coming. As you say, the sample is small but gets larger each game.

I would love for us to hit some HR’s but at this rate we can single everyone to death. I do think Andruw should sit. Right now JP or DY can give us more. Oh well.

    Check in tomorrow.

    Frank,

The joy of baseball is that hope springs eternal and you miss that, even if we don’t win. The process is wonderful and frustrating all at the same time. In baseball, you never can tell.

Baseball is a reflection of life. You win some, you lose some. You have ups and downs, highs and lows. You have unexpected successes and unexpected failures. You have hopes and dreams. Through it all, the game goes on, just as life does. I can’t enjoy the season by worrying about or anticipating what will happen in the last fifty games. I enjoy it daily and after a lose that shouldn’t have been, I look to the next game. What is life without baseball? For me the key is to stay low keyed, enjoy the good things that happen, like Blake Dewitt, and forget the rest.
