Never, Never, Never Give Up!

It’s going to take a miracle.   Like the one that happened when the Dodgers where dead in the water at 30-42.  A miracle wrought by one Yasiel Puig and the Junkyard Dogs.  It has to be a miracle led by the portly Korean and the Cuban refugee.

It’s going to be tough, but 42-8 was purely impossible and they did that.  This is do-able!  Just never-give-upwin out, baby!

“Never Surrender”

Just a little more time
Is all we’re asking for
‘Cause just a little more time
Could open closing doors
Just a little uncertainty
Can bring you down

And nobody wants to know you now
And nobody wants to show you how

So if you’re lost and on your own
You can never surrender
And if your path won’t lead you home
You can never surrender

And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
Cause no one can take away your right
To fight and to never surrender

With a little perseverance
You can get things done
Without the blind adherence
That has conquered some

And nobody wants to know you now
And nobody wants to show you how

So if you’re lost and on your own
You can never surrender
And if your path won’t lead you home
You can never surrender

And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
‘Cause no one can take away your right
To fight and to never surrender
To never surrender

And when the night is cold and dark
You can see, you can see light
No one can take away your right
To fight and to never surrender
To never surrender

Oh, time is all we’re asking for
To never surrender
Oh, oh, you can never surrender

Time is all you’re asking for
Stand your ground, never surrender
Oh, oh, oh, oh, I said
You never surrender, oh

  1. Michael says:

That’s why they play the games and who knows, we might all of a sudden find a use for our bats much like Boston did last night.
As you must all have heard by now, Hanley has a hairline fracture in a rib and remains a gametime decision depending on his BP. Normally they would be able to shoot it up with something to alleviate the pain but I recall from about a week ago that Hanley has an extreme fear of needles.
On the bright side, does Ortiz sit with no DH?

  2. Michael says:

That would be a bright side if we have to ponder that. d’oh

  3. the truth hurts says:

Im feeling some junkyard dogism tonight boys. Hanley has cracked ribs, ethier a hobbled ankle, puig cant buy a hit, our aces are spent, ryu has not been good as of late and we are down 2-0 with their ace on the mound.

    The time has come.

    Go blue!

  4. Badger says:

Well, when you put it that way truth, sounds like the Cards might come in overconfident.

We got ‘em right where we want ‘em.

    • the truth hurts says:

Ha! I like it Badger, lets hope so! Your optimism from earlier this year has rubbed off on me. Well done sir!

  5. Bobby says:

    Crawford
    Ellis
    Hanley
    Agone
    Ethier
    Puig
    Uribe
    Ellis
    Ryu

We’re sending out the best we can. Let’s just win today!

  6. Badger says:

Hanley swinging with a fractured rib? Inspiring. But can he hit anything?

  7. SpokaneBob says:

Puig should hit in the two hole. He would get more fastballs there. Especially if Crawford were on first.

  8. Bball says:

Ya just cuz Hanley is in the lineup doesn’t get me all giddy. I have to see if he can swing and field. Might be more of a liability. Lets hope not

  9. Quasimodo says:

Howdy my friends, I’ve had computer probs for 10 days. Just wanted to state this plate ump stinks!!!!!!!

  10. Bball says:

Back home and rejuvinated. Hell ya. We can do this.

  11. Badger says:

A lead off triple and they strand him.

    Swing at strikes dammit!

  12. Bball says:

I was waiting for that badger. Got to hand it to Ryu. Didn’t expect this. Still early though. Don’t wanna jinx it

  13. Mark_Timmons says:

Well, the portly Korean and the Cuban refugee have stepped up their games. We are witnessing a miracle! ;)

  14. Bobby says:

    Excellent job by Ryu today.

Now it’s Wilson/Kenley’s job to finish this

  15. Badger says:

    Ryu was outstanding.

Would like to have had that 3rd run, but, maybe we won’t need it.

  16. Roger Dodger says:

Is anyone else holding their breath? Bottom of the 8th . . . and counting.

  17. Quasimodo says:

Yes, but here comes Jansen and there won’t be a bottom 9th. Cheers!

  18. Mark_Timmons says:

    Cheers & Book \’em, Dano!

  19. Roger Dodger says:

All of a sudden — the Cardinals don’t see so big. Also, they thought that the play at the plate on Crawford was supposed to go their way . . .

Ryu was great. Agon was great. Puig was great . . . Jansen was great . . .

  20. Mark_Timmons says:

I said \” It has to be a miracle led by the portly Korean and the Cuban refugee.\”

    It was!

  21. Bobby says:

We just have to go win tomorrow. That’s it.

  22. Quasimodo says:

Did A.J. find a new brand of sneakers? That must be the case as its a rare thing him getting a triple!

  23. Rob says:

Excellent pitching tonight! The only real blemish tonight was not scoring AJ after a lead off triple.

  24. Quasimodo says:

Tonight’s game was a lot of fun! I’ve got to say having no internet since Saturday before last till this evening sucked. Missed you all.

  25. Bobby says:

We all miss you, but we miss normal blood pressure even more.

There’s talk now of Greinke going on 3 days rest tomorrow.

  26. Idaho al says:

very good game to watch. The Dodgers did everything they needed to do to win. Starting pitching was good, relief pitching was good, timely hitting and good defense. The Cardinals are not hitting. Even in their first two wins. They only got two hits off Kershaw and four (I think) off of Grienke. If we can win today, then we will have Grienke, Kershaw and Ryu for the last three games. I like our odds.
