This is the End of the Line

I have been struggling with this for almost two years, but I have finally made the decision that this is my last blog post.  It has been a great run but I no longer have the passion for it.  I will always be a Dodger fan, but I am content to read what others write.  It’s just a transition.  Let me explain why:

FAMILY:  I have 5 kids and 3 grand kids who always seem to be around (and I like it).  My 13-year-old is going to be a high school QB and I never miss a game.   All of our kids have their own businesses and we support them in that.

My daughter and I are growing our relationship after 26 years apart.

My grand daughters are awesome.

And, of course my Wife, Patty deserves more quality time.

BUSINESS:  I have been blessed to be able to find our niche and grow it during bad times.  Instead of “doing” the business, my role has changed to being the visionary and lots of writing and blogging about the business so as to keep it growing.  This is our family’s lifeblood and I can’t neglect it.

I am also involved with and have no time left for this blog.

I will probably sell this URL.  Feel free to post as long as it is up.  I also have a bunch of other sports sites that I will sell:,,, and a mess of others.

I can be reached at

Go Dodgers – Hopefully this will be a season to remember.

I will miss most you, but this is my final answer and I am OK with it… even relieved!

Godspeed and Peace to you all!

Hope write your book someday when all is well.
I also will be done when Vinnie is gone.

  2. Brooklyn Dodger says:

Best of luck Mark. I fully understand how you feel. I’ve cut my own blogging in recent months due to other commitments that have cut into my time. I think I’m headed in the same direction, i.e., reading what others write. I am certain that I will not be posting on any other blogs.

  3. Eric says:

Thanks Mark for all your work. Your site has been a place where I have found a voice as passionate as mine. Good luck with all of your family commitments, there is nothing as satisfying as healthy family relationships. Go Dodgers!

  4. Mike Rodriguez says:

I am a fairly newcomer to your site (last season), and I have enjoyed your posts and links. But I heartily approve of your decision. God, family, country and then other interests! God bless you and your family Mark!

  5. Bball says:

Mark I have been reading/ posting on ur blog for about two years. You have quit writing I think 4 times since then so do I believe u NO but if this is the end I wish u all the best and thanku for a great 2 year run. My passion is the dodgers and since I’ve found this site I’m looking at least ten times a day so I say a huge thanku to u. Take care and I really hope this is not the end

  6. Bball says:

Ken just a question. Your done watching/ following the dodgers when Vinny is done?

  7. wes parker in ia says:

Thanks, Mark. Didn’t always agree with you, but I always enjoyed your free flow of thoughts. All the best to you. Thank you for sharing.

  8. Badger says:

I feel the same way Brooklyn. I miss the old days of posting, when people had actual discussions and skin wasnt so thin. This place has been interesting and I like the format, but I too will just be reading the other blogs. Maybe I’ll see you around. I’ve really enjoyed your posts these last few months. That goes for Pete, quas, my old friends Gonzo and Roger, truth, Bill, Bball, and especially Mountain Mover.

  9. Bill Russell says:

Thanks for several years of enjoyment Mark. Lets stay in touch.

  10. Rob says:

Good luck Mark and thank you.

  11. Bball says:

Hey badger. I think you should start your own blog site. You always have things I agree with. Get with mark and see what you have to do cause I have to be able to talk to someone. Make it happen

  12. Dave says:

  15. Pete M. says:

    Mark…Family first…Take Care… God Bless…
Badger and others, where are we gonna go???
Seems a few sites that spring to mind, readers go off on wild ass tangents not baseball related…

  16. Roger Dodger says:

Gee, some things do not change.

Yesterday I posted here, of another Dodger fan site — how to get there, etc.

    And today it is gone.

Why Mark? Just offered another Dodger site for some to consider going to, that has Dodger fans sharing ideas.

Again, go here, click the first one: look around, sign in, free —

  17. Mark_Timmons says:

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I’ll leave the site up for a while and might even put a forum for you if you want.

  18. Idaho al says:

Sorry to see you stop. I have really enjoyed your work. I do understand. I have 9 grandchildren and I watch everything they do. Good luck down the road.

  19. Quasimodo says:

Wow, I guess I understand. While this has become a less important part of your life its been the opposite for me. I feel like one of those runners fallowing Forrest Gump after he said “I’m pretty tired”….But thank you Mark. You’ve provided us with a most pure place to gather. And yes, Badger my friend, take it over! You’d make a worthy captain-even though you can’t seem to lay off Ethier………again thanks Mark

  20. Badger says:

Eh, I have dabbled with this and I’m not the guy. I am gone a lot and have time to check in and be opinionated but not the time nor motivation to do what Mark does.

I would like to see Mark just keep this open daily so we can offer whatever is on our minds. I think for the most part this is a good group with varying opinions and decent communication skills. And we all obviously love the Dodgers.

And for the record I like Ethier. I would have made the move on Bourn, but since we didn’t I am back on the ‘dre mobile.

  22. Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your
post seem to be running off the screen in Internet explorer.
I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you
know. The style and design look great though! Hope you get
the issue resolved soon. Much appreciated info!

  23. Hey just wanted to give you a quick heads up and let you know
a few of the images aren’t loading correctly. I’m not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I’ve tried it in two different web browsers and both show the same results. Much appreciated!
