Merry Christmas

I would like to wish each and every reader of this site, the most joyous and Merry Christmas to you and your families.  This has been a most unfortunate year to survive through, but the one accomplishment that has given us Dodger fans hope for the future is a 2020 World Series Championship, and the end of a 31 year drought.  My #1 Christmas wish is for everyone to stay healthy throughout holiday season and for all of next year.  My #1 Dodger Christmas wish will be for fans to be allowed into the stadiums at some time late spring/early summer, and that 55,000+ will be watching the Dodgers win a second consecutive WS from Dodger Stadium. Here’s to Mookie Betts finally getting to hear the Dodger Stadium fans in 2021.

  1. Nine years ago on Xmas Eve I suffered a stroke then two years later I had another stroke Dec 22. I hate December. It’s just an unlucky pattern that somehow bit me in the ass and always hit unexpectedly. I don’t hate Xmas I wish all the very best, don’t know why they put it in this month. Don’t know where to take this next, so I won’t. Everybody, have a great New Year!

  2. My best wishes for the holidays to each of you. I appreciate the contribution each of you makes to my Dodger fandom. You add to the fun.

    1. Several offers in hand for at least 5 years. He would be a very good add to the Dodgers.

MERRY CHRISTMAS 1439 and all Dodgers fans!

  3. Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and most of all a healthy and productive 2021 to everyone here at LADT.

  4. Big Christmas Dinner tonight with twenty people at our house… All of whom have had COVID-19 recently. Very strange, indeed!

    1. Wow Mark, that’s really crazy. What are you serving, Wuhan Bat? Merry COVID Christmas. I sure hope you don’t start a new pandemic. 😉

California is supposedly a hot bed right now, but I have yet to actually know anybody here that’s got infected with it. It’s quite impressive that you have 20 people in the same house.

I just got my World Series trophy Christmas Ornament yesterday, just in time. I can’t wait for the repeat trophy next year.

      1. Everyone has had it in the past 2 months, so all should have antibodies. My daughter who lives 3 hours away works at her three daughters’ school and who got it first is a mystery, but she and all three kids as well as her husband got it. None were very sick.

My wife’s niece has 6 kids and her husband works at FedEx, so they all got it, hardly missed a beat. My wife, son, his girlfriend, and their baby all had it and were hardly sick. It was like a cold they said, except that my wife and daughter and her youngest all lost their sense of taste and smell.

I was the lucky one, who didn’t lose my sense of taste and smell – just ended up in the hospital. It must be harder on those over 65. My wife is 57 and everyone else is young, so there is that. Anyway, it is very weird!

        Stay safe everyone!

  5. MT – have a great mal and holidays…
Wife and I were going to pick up a crew from SoCal, Oregon and converge on Wa. to be at my daughter’s house… We all got together via zoom and cancelled!!! Too risky… I’m 74 and have a few pennant winning seasons in me…

  6. Merry Christmas to the entire LADT family!
Everyone check under your tree today to see if Santa left you a really good relief pitcher.

      1. Must be your “reward” for all your snarky comments. 😉 At least you’ll be warm?

  7. My symptoms showed up on the 9th, body aches, sore throat and tired. Felt lousy for a week, tested positive, symptoms gone on 15th. No symptoms for past 10 days.
Fully recovered ( at home ) at 90% energy level. 70 years old live in LA.
Merry Christmas to LADT Dodger fans.

  8. Merry Christmas to all! The brilliant bight spit to 2020 was the Championship! Thank you all In the organization.

    Now a beef.

In the hopes someone high in the Dodger Organization reads this.

The Dodger Fan Cutout Project has been a HUGE cluster you know what to my family. My wife dutifully ordered one for me early on.l supporting the great cause The smucks who actually ran that project set up two accounts for my cut out. We were given a seat and a location. But Nada! By the last two games and multiple interactions (can you customer service duh) my cut out appeared.

We enjoyed the same multiple screws up trying to get the cut out returned. Due to COVID we couldn’t pick it up. Imagine paying extra to get it mailed to you (with two accounts – never corrected!).

So, happy about the field performance, the championship, the cut out cause. But the hopes of having my souvenir cut out for the 2020 Championship Season. Well, Nada! I ask the Dodgers take the extra $20.00 they charged me to mail it to my hone and give funds to the Sisters of Mercy!

    1. My cutout is now sitting under the tree. My girls want to take selfies with it. Had it shipped here. $18 shipping charge that I thought was reasonable. I was satisfied with the process of the cutouts and it supported a good cause. Sorry you had a problem with the cutouts, OCDodger.

  9. 2020. The year of the Good (for Laker and Dodger fans) the Bad and the Ugly! Can’t wait to say goodbye! Merry Christmas to everyone here!

  10. As much as I wish all of you a Merry Christmas, I also want to send Christmas cheer and a wish for peace and a better year to the men and women serving in the Armed Forces of the United States all over the world. What they do, they do for love of country. And they deserve respect and every bit of support we can offer. Some of us have been where they are. Far from home on Christmas, doing a job most do not want to do. This year has been rough on all of us. But there have been some bright spots to. The Dodgers winning it all was one of them. The camaraderie of the fans and the folks on this site has made a lot of this bearable. My life has changed too. Being able to share and write for this site and all of you fans has made my days have a purpose other than just existing. Yes, I also have my music, but I feel I have made some new friends and brought a little smile to someone’s face now and then. I wish all of you, good health, a happy life, and lets hope 2021 is a much better year for us all. Merry Christmas!!

  11. Merry Christmas to all!
And a special thanks to Mark, Jeff, Bear, Badger, Harold, and all of the regular contributors to this wonderful site.
In a rough year for everyone, you have made a great baseball season even more enjoyable.

  12. Merry Christmas to all.Remember the only reason we have Christmas is to celebrate the birth of our savior Jesus!I hope you all know him.Go Dodger blue!

  13. Mark, i say i’m fully recovered after two weeks of onset of symptoms. That is, no more of any symptoms. But, i am for my age, 70, in excellent health and an extreme high energy person.
My wife commented that in our 46 years of marriage this is only the fourth time she recalls me being sick.
That said, while i now feel great it seems the energy level is slow in returning. I’m at 90% so maybe im being impatient. Maybe full strength takes awhile.
Glad to hear that you and yours are in recovery. Enjoy that Christmas dinner together.

  14. Merry Christmas Everyone

We are Blessed to be Dodger fans at this time in history.

    God Bless each of you

  15. I for one will be happy when Christmas is over. Mostly because my neighbor 3 houses down has over $150,000 in Christmas lights and our house is on a drive that has about 40 homes. It is a quiet area which is why we live here, but during the XMAS season, hundreds (maybe thousands) of cars drive down our street every night. It takes 20 minutes to get in or get out. I think this is going to be the last year because it is very dangerous. Here’s a link to the photos. It even goes over the street!

  16. A bit late with Merry Christmas greetings but I trust you all had a good Christmas with family. Elaine and I visited over night with Jamie, Laura and 2.5 year old grandson Rowan. We are really pleased that the Covid restrictions allowed for a gathering of 10. There were seven of us and none from an area with a reported Covid case. As of yesterday there were 36 active cases in Nova Scotia with none in hospital. Almost all are in the Halifax city area.

Belated Merry Christmas and an early wish for a healthy and prosperous new year. It will be better by a lot.

  17. Merry Christmas, everyone. Hope everyone reflects on the things we should all be grateful for, not only that the team we root for are World Champs.

  18. Here’s to retirement next year or 2022 at latest. Best to all of you and Mark especially. Over half the world is covered in water …

Really want to repeat and then possibly threepeat just to shut up the SF fans forever. Atlanta and NYY are biggest challenges ahead.

Rotation is set with new blood coming up: Gray, Miller, Beeter.

Lux will emerge. We need an OF to step up [Peters, Reks or Thomas].

    Oceans rise, empires fall.
We have seen each other through it all.

  19. From here forth I’m calling Cleveland the ‘Hindus’. Showing there never was anything offensive towards Native Americans.
