AJ Ellis is fatter than Crawford

Ned to add Fujikawa?
http://losangeles.dodgers.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20121119&content_id=40369018&vkey=news_la&c_id=la
If Fujikawa is as good as his stats, his addition would give the Dodgers a lockdown back end of the bullpen, added to League, Jansen and Belisario. And let’s throw in Elbert for good measure. Of course, Fujikawa has reportedly met with 5 teams. If he wants to be the primary closer, that would be difficult with the Dodgers. But if the Dodgers can get him, I’m all for it.
Primary need right now is another starter or two, or three. Like to see Ryu signed, and then maybe we get Greinke and/or Sanchez, or work out a deal for Hellickson and/or Shields. And I’m sure there are other options. Whatever happens, I expect the Dodgers to come away with some more pitching.
“AJ Ellis is fatter than Crawford
”
Gosh I hope so.
Ellis is a catcher. That weight will fall off in no time. And who knows, maybe that’s what he has always looked like.
If we sign Ryu and Fujikawa, we might have some strong arms to move for Shields. Our current depth chart has a log of young arms on it.
I think I will be heading down for my birthday again. I do about every year.
IF the Dodgers DO sign Greinke — it will not be CHEAP. So that makes Kershaw’s future contract even richer.
How is this new ownership and the financial cliff? any concerns there?
“How is this new ownership and the financial cliff? any concerns there?”
Nope.
These guys are insulated from any effects of a financial cliff. The financial cliff, if there is one, will only effect the 99%. Of course, many of those are the people who buy tickets.
Waiting for some new internet technology to be created within 5 years that will make cable and tv sports stations obsolete and the dodger tv revenue nonexistent, thus benefiting all of the 99%. Not that is a baseball fiscal cliff. I will probably have to wait more than 5 years.
If the president, house and senate members had one ounce of creativity, then the fiscal cliff would have no effect on any person and the creative counterbalancing solutions would only adversely effect Wall Street. However, since they are ALL in the pocket of Wall Street, no creative solution will ever occur and partisan dialogue will continue on both sides of the political and philosophical debate resulting in unprincipled compromise and decades of partisan conflict.
Brilliant analysis.
I was thinking about how a Greinke signing might effect Kershaws deal. It wouldn’t surprise me if the Dodgers were working on both agreements at the same time and announced them together.
Sign the Korean and one of the top free agent starters. Then let Spring Training sort it out.

Some people just have round faces. Fernando was round and he pitched ok.
Peggy – Can’t decide which is cuter Evan or Bellbird. He looks so happy and the puppy abouestlly indifferent. Wonder which was harder to capture??The blurred background makes you focus on the boy but then the eye is drawn down to the dog and the sticks, typical boy necessities. Love the composition. This photo is sure to be a family treasure.May 19, 2011 11:49 am
B-17, I echo your statement above. Play ball . . .
Pitching?
The Dodgers always have and always will have good pitching
The problem IS you need to score runs to win the game and we continued our malaise even after the big trade
Oh, I forgot we got a new hitting coach; is that the fix?
It’s great that they want to improve an already good staff but don’t forget our offensive offense
I know Badger. Ryu in street clothes looks way different than in a uni. You gotta love AJ Ellis. I bet he keeps people loose in the clubhouse. $100 says he will be a talking head for a baseball show when he retires or a manager.
Yanks signed Kuroda…..I guess that means we’re all in on Greinke.
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/11/yankees-agree-to-terms-with-hiroki-kuroda.html
David Wells wasn’t exactly skinny.
Remember Rick Reuschel? If not, here he is:
http://www.baseball-almanac.com/players/player.php?p=reuscri01
And there have been others.
Good news that we didn’t sign Kuroda. I hope the Dodgers are no longer in the business of signing 38 year old pitchers, or 38 year old anythings. And why would they want to surrender a first round pick for a one year fix. Much prefer the Dodgers to spend more for the likes of Greinke and Sanchez. And hopefully Ryu will turn out to be a good signing (if he’s signed at all). I’d also like the Dodgers to stay away from Ryan Dempster, who will be 36 in 2013.
I’m all for the Dodgers acquiring additional offense, but frankly I think they mostly have it already. I’m hopeful we will have a healthy Matt Kemp, and that Adrian Gonzalez, Hanley Ramirez, and Carl Crawford are the players we believe (or hope) they can be. And Andre Ethier should also thrive in a lineup where he’s more than amply protected. And if Gordon contributes, I see no reason why this team shouldn’t score lots of runs.
Agree with that Brooklyn. If we can keep who we currently have on the field, we will score enough to support what should be a great staff.
Get ‘em signed Jed.
Crawford is a 4th outfielder remember. We need a LF
Angel Pena
Matt Magill & Steven Ames put on 40 man.. No word on Ynoa as of yet…
Kuroda resigns with Yanks for 1 yr @ 15 mill–
The Greinke sweepstakes will play itself out in the next 2 weeks– I seriously doubt if Arte go as high on Greinke as Guggs.. If he does & Greinke is comfortable in Anaheim, get ready for the Blue to over spend on Sanchez..
I forgot Crawford was the 4th outfielder. Here’s the guy who will be starting in LF.
