Tonight I literally thought I was in Los Angeles in 2006 against the Padres. First Hanley to center, then Poney to right, and my boy Luis Cruz to left. I was still waiting for Nomar to come up and then I saw AJ Ellis step to the plate and snapped back into reality.
Harang was unimpressive in his first two innings throwing twice as many balls as strikes. (115-58 pitches to strikes through 6.2 innings) He fought back and tuffed it out to make a quality start. Today’s game was managed how yesterday’s should have been. Randy was brought in to face Heyward after Harang gave up a triple to Bourn and miraculously got Prado out. Randy did what he was suppose to and got the out. Guerra looked like a deer in the headlights. He needs to get it together and be our seventh inning guy. Shawn is reading the same script Guerra was. It was Mr. Strikeout himself Kenley Jansen who had to end the rally and slam the door shut for the win. I’ll act like that home run didn’t happen.
Hanley, Poney, and Luis was the offense. Only four hits all home runs.
I’ll take it.
Hanley “I see you” I better be “seeing you all the way into the playoffs and the World Series
My Little James Poney, had 2 home runs in one week and we still have Sunday for a chance at another one. If Poney hits another I will drop the nickname.
Kemp is trying to make up for lost time at the plate by swinging at EVERYTHING!!!! Kemp goes 0-3 with 2 strikeouts, a walk, and a pop out.
Nomar. Come outta retirement????
P.S. All you got to do is tick Hanley off and he’ll go beast mode. Thank you Ozzie Guillen!
