Tommy Lasorda Suffers Heart Attack

Baseball legend Tommy Lasorda is currently in a New York hospital after suffering a heart attack Monday, TMZ has learned.

84-year-old Lasorda was in NY representing the L.A. Dodgers at the MLB draft, which started yesterday.

Sources tell us … the heart attack was “mild” and Tommy is expected to be ok — and the plan is for him to be released tomorrow.

People at the draft began to suspect something was wrong today when Tommy was not present to announce the Dodgers’ draft picks..

Tommy appeared just fine yesterday, signing autographs at a media gathering and eating at an Italian restaurant … even singing with an accordion player.

It sounds like the Big Dodger in the Sky isn\’t ready for him yet, but…

  2. DRomo says:

We saw him last week at the game and I have to say Tommy is BIG! I know at 84 Tommy can do what ever the hell he wants to. But someone ought to tell Tommy we want him around a little while longer. Maybe mix in a little salad with the pasta!

Thoughts and prayers to Uncle Tommy!

  3. Badger says:

Tommy is 84 and has been overweight a long, long time. And now, at this age, he is as big as I can remember.

Does it matter? He is 84! He won!

Guys like him will never die.

  4. Leroy says:

Ernest Borgnine is in his 90′s and he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!

    Nice Game
Nice Draft going after both position players and pitchers.

  6. Dave says:

Cliff Lee still winless! Translation – Dodgers win! Herrera does it again! He IS the next man up! My cup is still half full. . .yours?

  7. Roger Dodger says:

Billingsley is now the #1 starter. Enough of Clayton and his Cy Young. Chad is the man!!!

Like I said yesterday, Gordon goes 1 for 4 and his average goes up.

Herrera is something. Key hits . . .

Ethier is cooling off. Castellanos zip for 4, welcome to the majors Mr. Casto.

    Lindblom keep holding ‘em.

    Tommy is proud !!!

  8. Badger says:

Good Bills. It happens a few times a year.

3,4,5 hitters 0 for 11 and we pick up the win.

Pitching. I say again, it will be pitching that keeps us in this thing.

  9. Badger says:

We drafted Onelki Garcia Speck. You guys know the story surrounding this guy? Mark, you might want to look into it and post it. If this guy sticks, and there might be some international legal issues to deal with, we just picked up a 95 mph lh pitcher that might immediately step into our rotation.

  10. Badger says:

OK, stepping right in might be a stretch. I thought he was 24. Well, last year he was 23, but this year he is 22 so, he has that going for him.

Just saw Logan White on a two minute youtube saying he is more excited about this draft than he has been in a while. Of course he is. He said we got some position players he really likes – Saeger, Chigbogu, Curletta. Gonna be interesting to see how he does selecting somebody other than pitchers.
