I got more than you do.

Off to Utah for some National Park hiking with a group of old friends. We get together every year. First year was Mt. Whitney. Last year was Mt. Elbert. This year is mount a bar stool in Moab.

Lakers coughed up a hair ball. Dodgers look … odd. Pujols may be finding his stroke. Kings look like… a hockey team, and what I know about that you could fit into an A cup. Rams might be on there way back. I think Andrew Luck will be better than RGcubed.

I’ll send you a post card.

I just got my first cup of coffee so I gotta g

I’m not sure I like Donnie’s approach to resting players, where he rests them all at once. Why not space it out over the week instead of running out a whole team of weak-hitting stunt-men? I did like what I saw of Herrera at 3rd, and it’s a good thing because from medical reports Uribe’s wrist is not good–they’re not even telling us what they know. Why is that…are they trying to swing a deal to replace him? The violence of his swing is going to make it hard to get over a serious injury any time soon. Too bad–he seemed to be coming around.

  4. DRomo says:

Day game after a night game I get resting SOME of the guys. I have to think the Donnie thought the Isotope roster he ran out there could beat the Padres. OOPS!

I did like the way Herrera looked yesterday, but watching him (for some reason) made me think more about how badly we need Hairston back. He could hold down 3B and be productive. Also Dee Gordon has to do SOMETHING! Him getting on base changes everything. He is distracting he is exciting. He can change the way everyone below him gets pitched to.

Thank Goodness the Giants lost. 6 games can dissappear real fast if we aren’t careful!

  5. Bill Russell says:

I was on-board with Donny until yesterday. I just can’t figure out why we wouldn’t give a better effort into winning the games against the 29 ranked MLB team. Kennedy in the lineup, both Ellis’s out of the line up. Rest after the game. It’s the Padre’s.
The Lakers had a 7 point lead with a little more then two minutes to play and lost. The wheels are coming off both of my LA teams.

  6. Bobby says:

Lakers (KOBE) gave that game away. Dodgers had 1 ugly lineup out there.

Oh well, this will be a pretty fun sports weekend though; going to the Kings game tonight (Go Kings Go), Laker game tomorrow night, probably Laker game Sat night (unless we lose tomorrow), and hopefully either the Kings or Dodgers game Sunday!

  7. DRomo says:

Last nights Laker game was the equal to Broxton giving Jimmy Rollins a cookie and blowing game 5 in Philly a few years ago.

If they win the whole series changes, we steal one, come back home with home field/court…..but CHOKE!!!!!!!!!!!

    Its over.

  8. Michael says:

Plasma injections, Tee Ball and could Sciosa be had?
All sorts of reads @ the Times today.

  9. Brooklyn Dodger says:

I hope Uribe’s wrist is not good, i.e., unless the Dodgers found a team stupid enough to take him off their hands. If the Dodgers can unload Uribe, I’m all for it. If not, I’m all for him not recovering anytime soon from his injury. I got home too late to see most of yesterday’s game that began here in the east at 6:40. But even though I haven’t seen Herrera, and therefore have no opinion about him at all, I would caution anyone from getting too excited because he hit a double. Maybe he’s a late bloomer, the next Maury Wills. Or maybe there was good reason for him not being on the 40 man roster. Something tells me the Dodgers would like to find someone more substantial. I think Hairston is a nice utility player, but things have to be awfully bad at 3B for Dodger fans to be pining for his return.

Mark, hard to believe you “…got nothing”. Have to believe you’re planning to react to this.

Maybe there was a good reason for overpaying. Then again, maybe not.

I just want anybody not named Adam Kennedy playing 3rd. Speaking of which he is and get this; batting 5th tonight. I would say Mattingly has lost it but he never had it to begin with. Insane!

  10. Brooklyn Dodger says:

I have to question Mattingly’s decision yesterday to pinch hit Loney for Sands in the 9th. That hitter represented the tying run. Although multiple hits could have tied the score, so could one long ball. Sands’ power potential far outweighs the lefty-righty matchup. Maybe Sands would have struck out, but I like his chances of hitting a HR a lot more than Loney’s.

  11. Bill Russell says:

Our mostly Triple A team lost yesterday to a team that claimed Eric Stults and released Orlando Hudson. Lord have mercy

  12. jerry says:

gordon looks like he upper cuts each swing..he should be hitting down on the ball. he is a sad hitter right now.
