About Mark Timmons
When you see the invisible, you can do the impossible!
Why give Tony Gwynn Jr a two year contract? This is what i hate about Colletti, it just seems that he is always outbidding himself. I know you want a veteran presence but come on, Harriston, kennedy, ellis, and Rivera when is it to much. The worst part is that he is giving them two year contracts. In reality how many of these players could of you sign to minor league contracts or one year deals. Give Van Slyke, Castellanos a chance to compete and try to win a bench job. All this money he is blowing he could of use to say sign Prince Fielder. He is back loading these contracts anyways so whats the problem? Our new owner who ever it is first move should be to fire Ned Colletti.
yuck (so far)
I’d guess that Treanor will be the back-up catcher while Federowicz is the everyday receiver in AAA, while Eovaldi might be better served by taking a regular turn in the minors as well. With that in mind look for one more relief pitcher to be signed (McDougal anyone?), but what you see listed is probably what we’re going to get in 2012. Looks like a .500 season to me, although you never know in the NL West. If you look at the Giants in ’10 and D’backs in ’11, they looked like nothing like world beaters either, so I guess that’s why they play the 162 game schedule. Nonetheless, having a guy like Uribe projected as your starting third baseman doesn’t give one a sense of confidence, does it?!
how many you guys think that fielder actually wanted to play in l.a.? suks we hav all this bullshit with mccourt n ned man hopefully fielder signs a 1 year contract then comes here nxt year when we hav a real owner .doubt it tho
. mark when u think fielder will sign with some1?
I am glad to see Gwynn sign a trwo year deal. There was a lot of bitching when he signed last year but he has proved to be a valuable part of the team.
If any of the past several years holds true, then some of the younger players like Sands . . . should start the season in AAA — and then after getting their stroke and working on their total game — bring them up the end of April or in May when they are in the swing of things –
Why? Some younger players stick on the roster from the beginning — and if they press and things don’t pan out — they sit on the bench or are sent back down and that puts them holding their head trying to figure everything out.
