Dodgers Sign Zach Lee

Dodgers Sign Zach Lee

Evidently the Dodgers just signed Zach Lee for $5.25 mil according to multiple sources.

To show you what they thought of Zach Lee, they paid Clayton Kershaw $2.7 mil.

I guess that makes all the morons who thought the Dodgers didn’t sign Hudson and Wolf because they didn’t want to pay draft picks, look like… well morons!

And they paid 4 times the slot to Pederson!

    i’m very very pleasantly shocked!!!

    love the signing, Mark.

Here are quotes from TJ’s article over at ESPN:

As a pitcher, White said Lee is a better all-around athlete than either Kershaw or Chad Billingsley, two recent first-round picks (2006 and 2004, respectively) who are now mainstays in the Dodgers’ starting rotation.

“He has an absolutely picture-perfect delivery and excellent arm action,” White said.”He is as pure as any pitcher I have ever seen. He has power stuff like Kershaw and Billingsley, but when those guys were younger, they would almost fight through a wall sometimes and try to overpower somebody, but they have grown and learned how to pitch more than just throw and be more effective with their pitch counts.

“I think Lee at the same age has a better feel for how to pitch than Chad or Clayton, and I don’t mean that to disparage them at all.”

White said Lee’s fastball touches 95 mph, but that he normally pitches in the 89-90 range, has a good breaking ball and a great changeup.

Morons huh? Thanks man. Love you too. I haven’t changed my mind on that issue, that’s for sure. Neither have the other morons who know better.

Fact of the matter is, they again deferred the money out into the future. We will see how this works out. Frankly, at this point, I find it hard to give a damn anymore. The Dodgers suck wind, their minor league system has gone from one of the best to one of the worst and they just signed a high school kid for $5 million. If he is any good at all, we won’t see him near the Major Leagues for 3-4 years. In the mean time, we don’t have any A prospects in the system and we still don’t know who is going to own this club, we can only hope the McCourts disappear.
