I think things are playing out Brooklyn.

The Dodgers aren't mentioned anywhere in the rumor mills. I think the entire world of baseball can see what is going on here and everyone is just waiting for the shoe to drop.

It's no secret that I would love to see the Dodgers sold to a deep pocketed owner willing to invest for the short and long term. At the same time, I refuse to scoff at minor league deals as if to think that they are a harbinger of future moves. Every team, even those that spend lavishly, make relatively minor moves to fill gaps within their organizations. I'm sure Justim Miller was signed to simply give the Dodgers an arm with major league experience on the farm in the event that he might be needed to plug a spot on the roster during the season, due to an injury, or whatever. I don't know if the Dodgers are going to conduct "business as usual" this offseason, but the Miller move is just that, as are myriad other moves made by every organization.

While there has been some action prior to the Winter Meetings, most of the work has yet to be done by most teams, Dodgers incuded. I believe that there will be some movement during the meetngs, especially after it's known which players have accepted or rejected arbitration. And there will be further happenings after the meetings. I'm as skeptical as anyone, but at the same time I think it's only fair to let things play out before jumping to any conclusions.

Hell yeah! We got Justin Miller. Now we don't need Halladay or Lackey!

We are yet to pull the trigger on Luis Ayala but I've got fingers crossed!!
