"How many free agents will now laugh at Dodger offers with incentive clauses based upon plate appearances???"

All of them. And how many free agents are telling their agents to avoid this mess?

O-dog had the rest he needed, was ready to play and he deserved a chance to play. He did not get it. Everyone, (well, not EVERYONE) can see what happened to him, and what is happening with the Dodgers.

SELL!

Hudson had 631 Total Plate Appearances, 5th most on the Dodgers, in 149 games. He was burnt out in the first half of the year by Torre and needed the rest thus a good trade for Belly. Still, Belly played too much and Hudson did not pay enough at the end of the year. He was also not treated with the respect that he was due as an All-Star and subsequent Gold Glover. He got as much respect as Torre deserves (and hopefully the same amount of respect that the players will give Torre next season). If Hudson had missed more games the blame would have been on Frank/Ned, but one PA short and no explaination EVER! puts the blame squarely on Torre.

Don't forget--when O-Dawg did finally get into the playoffs--he hit a pinch hit home run. Pulled deep into thje left field seats. He obviously was no longer "tired" as he was when Frankie acquired Belliard. But why wasn't O-Dawg given a chance to prove he was ready again until the playoffs were practically over?

$10,000.00 would e a slap in the face if Frankie and Jamie stiffed him for that amount. $190,000.00 is a lot of scratch for two dunderheads more involved with themselves than with the welfare of their business. That amount buys a lot of attorney time when you've got to asses involved in a cat fight to the death of them both. It meant a lot more to O-Dawg who probably only has a year or two left with that injury and the sunofagun deserved to get every penny of his contract--maxed out.

It's crime that he was set down on his butt by a catatonic manager who doesn't know his ass from a hot rock--or our felony stupid owners to save a buck or three for the final community property split.

Forgot to again mention the $10,000 per at bat. That's a lot of coin to dish out for a guy who is about to get his ass-ets cut in half with an impending screwing. That's around 25 billable hours per at bat, depending on what firm he has representing him. Hey, maybe if we were in his position, that is bent over a table with a team of lawyers about to skewer you, we would do the same thing. Who is going to notice? Belliard-Hudson, Hudson-Belliard - what's the difference when Philly has Cliff Lee?

Sell the team Frankie.
