Player of the Day – Chris Withrow, RHP

Chris was far better the second go-round as he allowed just 2 unearned runs (on a play where 2 errors were committed) and struck out 5 batters. He velocity was in its usual mid 90s range, though his command of the strike zone eluded him occasionally. Withrow has had problems throwing strikes all season and may be tiring as he’s approaching 100 innings pitched after tossing just 4 last year. However, reaching Double A as a 20 year old is an impressive feat and any success he has at the level is icing on the cake.

Tony Abreu – 2 for 5, 3B, GS (9), 5 RBI, 2 R (.344 BA)
Blake DeWitt - 1 for 5, K (.255 BA)
Jamie Hoffman - 2 for 4, R, K, SB (.293 BA)
