THE ALBUQUERQUE ISOTOPES      AAA

The ‘Topes were not scheduled to play.  They finished a game scheduled 6/11/09 which had been suspended due to power problems.  They lost 5-1 with ALVARADO pitching a complete game loss giving up 5 earned runs.  SMITH homered and Luna hit a double.  HU had a 2 hit game.  The stats are obviously stale and so omitted.

THE CHATTANOOGA LOOKOUTS     AA

The Lookouts lost to Mobile  6-4.

JOHNSON (W, 6-5, 3.43), got the win going 5 innings and allowing 3 earned runs on 9 hits, 2 BBs and 4 Ks.  RODRIGUEZ followed going 1.2 innings allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits, 2 walks and 1 K.  FELIX (3.04) pitched 2 perfect innings with a strikeout and GUERRA (4.91) pitched 1 perfect inning with 1 K to finish the game.

THE INLAND EMPIRE 66ERS    A      ADVANCED

Lake Elsinore beats the 66ers 11-7.

ALVARAZ (L, 2-3, 5.63), drew the loss, pitching worse than an 87 year old, 98 pound, peg legged, one-eyed bag lady. He gave up 7 earned runs in just 4 innings on 5 hits, 2 walks and 2 Ks.  TORRES (0.00)., followed with an inning of one hit, 2 strike out shut out ball.PFEIFER (4.38) spent too much time watching ALVAREZ and not enough time watching TORRES because he stank up the place as well giving up 2 earned runs on 3 hits and a walk over 2 innings.

Then, when the game was virtually lost, the manager proved he wasn’t major league material by bringing in rehabbing Dodger set-up man/closer KUO (0.00) who continues to pitch lights out on his rehab assignment. KUO pitched a perfect inning , striking out 1.  BRANNON (4.34) mopped up allowing 1 earned run on 2 hits and 1 walk over the last inning.

CASSERRES (.293) hit his 2nd triple.  ORTIZ (.245) and MATTINGLY (.258) added doubles.  CASSERRES went 3-3 with a walk.  ROBINSON (.305), ORTIZ (.245), and GREEN (.225) all had 2 hits.
