TOM O’SHEA’S MINOR LEAGUE REPORT 7-20-09
THE OGDEN RAPTORS (Rookie)
Raptors beat Billings 6-3.
WALLACH (3.60), stunk to high heaven in the 2 innings he worked giving up 2 earned runs, 4 hits and 2 walks. CASTILLO (W,2-2, 3.67), fared better pitching 4 innings of 4 hit ball, giving up 2 earned runs, walked 7 and K’d 3. Quntero (S, 1, 0.75) got the save pitching 3 innings of shut out ball and allowing just 1 hit while fanning 2.
4 Raptors whacked doubles: ERICKSON (.324), HERNANDEZ (.304), CAVAZOS-GALVEZ (.287) and JACOBS (.300) all done the dirty deed. ERICKSON went 3-5. RUGGIANO went 2-3 with 2 walks.
THE ALBUQUERQUE ISOTOPES AAA
Round Rock beats the ‘Topes 9-2.
There was some talk of giving the entire Isotope squad their outright releases if the would accept designation for assignment to the Hartford Weaky Peewees–who were once a class A team when the Cubbies won the series. saner heads ultimately prevailed and most of the players will try to muddle through the rest of the year.
DURBIN (L, 0-1, 4.50) ultimately took the lose despite pitching a quality start.going 6 innings on 7 hits 3 earned runs 2 walks and 2 Ks. ARIAS (23.14) was so awful he suggested trying himself at second base–as he went 1.1 innings and gave up 6 eared runs on 5 hits and a walk. He managed to strike out 2. MAZA (0.00) the final two outs giving up a hit and a walk but held Round Rock scoreless.
Hold on to your hats because Abreu (.333), is starting to heat up in spades! He walked his 6 double and went 4-3 with on walk and an RB! on the evening. It’s going to be hard to keep him down on the farm if he continues to hit one of every 3 pitches for a base knock.
THE CHATTANOOGA CHOO CHOOS AA
The Choo Choos lost to Tennessee, 2-0.
FELIX (3-1, 2.57) only managed to go 3.1 innings berfore being lifted He’ only given up 1 run on 2 his and 2 walks whie fanning 5 which you wonder if the manager is dumber than the proverbial bag of hammers… GARATE (.257) followed and got the next 2 outs without allowing a run or a hit. The future super star mopped up the last 5 innings giving up 0 earned runs, 4 hits, 0 walks and fanned 6.
The Choo Choos need a new manager who knows his ass from a hot rock.
Our Lookouts had no extra base hits or multi hit games.
PEEEE-UUUUUU!!!!
THE INLAND EMPIRE 66ERS A ADVANCED
The 66ers beat Lake Elsnore 10-5.

KUO (H, 1, 0.00), pitched a solid shut out inning and gave up 1 hit, 0 walks and fanned 2 in the process. Hey skip! Put him in before TRONCOSCO’S arm falls off too!
KREBS (3.65) pitched a shutout inning as well but loaded the bases with a hit and 2 walks before he could accomplish that. PRADO (4.62), got his ass blown off giving up3 earned runs in 1 inning. SCHREIBER restored order and got the final out striking out 2 while giving up a hit and a walk.
