THE OGDEN RAPTORS ROOKIE
Orem clubs the Raptors to death with a big bludgeon, 9-5.
MAGILL (L, 0-1, 7.20), went 4 innings and was humiliated, giving up 5 earned runs on 9 hits and no walks or strikeouts. FERRERAS (4.50), went an inning and gave up an earned run on 1 hit walked 2 and fanned 1. QUINTERO pitched 2 shutout innings while allowing 3 hits, 2 walks and K’d 2. ROBERTS (7.71) mopped up the last 2 innings allowing an earned run, 2 hits and K’d 1.
The following Raptors hit doubles: JACOBS (.316), ERICKSON (.238), CAVAZOS-GALVEZ (.233), and YOUNT (.300). JACOBS, GUERRERO (.214), and YOUNT had two hit games.
THE ALBUQUERQUE ISOTOPES AAA

POLLOK (5.85), went 2 and gave up 5 earned runs. ‘Nuff said? CHOI (W, 3-1, 2.27), went 2 innings and gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, 3 walks and fanned 2. LINDBLOM (H, 2, 4.26), earned the Hold going 2 shutout innings giving up 2 hits, 0 walks and K’ing 3. BONILLA (4.63), got bombed in his 2 innings of work giving up 2 earned runs on 3 hits while fanning 2. Too much said. ARIAS (0.00) was perfect in his one inning of mop up striking out a batter.
ABREU (.312) went on a rampage going 4-6 and whacking his 2nd home run and 2nd triple of the year. Almost the cycle…
ROSARIO (.253), added his 2nd triple. CLOSSER (.362), and MAZA (.289), both smacked doubles. Besides Abrue’s 4 hit game, CLOSSER, ROSARIO, REPKO (.260) all blasted 3 hits a piece. MAZA (.289), JONES (.285), HU (.264), and ELLIS (.305) (Martin’s replacement after the Halladay deal), all smashed 2 singles in the game.doubles.
All in all it was a good day for the Isotopes. Every starter had at least one hit. The entire New Orleans has been detained and charged with malpracticing baseball at the minor league level. Shoeless Joe Jackson has been appointed special prosector by former President George W. Bush.
THE CHATTANOOGA LOOKOUTS AA
Carolina bullied our Lookouts 6-1
BASTARDO (L, 2-2, 4.68) to see his average drop to .500. He went 5iinins and gave up 4 earned runs on 6 hits, 1 walk and fanned 3 miserable batters. CORCORAM (5.92) followed and was really none better going 2 innings and giving up 2 earned runs on 3 hits and one K. GARATE (2.02) finished by pitching 1 inning of shut out ball although he gave up a hit and a walk to do it the hard way. He managed 1 K.
Offensively, we stunk like a cat’s liter box that hadn’t been changed for 10 years. Only NIVAR (.37), had a 2 hit night.
THE INLAND EMPIRE 66ERS A ADVANCED
Our 66ers beat Lake Elsinore 8-5.
SEXTON (3.02), earned no decision but pitched 6 quality innings giving 3 earned run on 7 hits, 3 walks and 5 Ks. SCHREIBER (BS, 2.89) followed with 1.1 innings of very forgettable ball in which he gave up 2 eared runs on 2 hits (both home runs). The gopher ball artist did manage to avoid the base on balls and struck out one. McCARTER (L, 2-1, 3.82), was ever bit as ineffective going 1.1 inning nd giving up 3 earned runs on 2 hits and 2 walks. He did strike out 3. SANFLER (4.56) finished up striking out the only batter he faced.
LARA (.274), homered in the 3rd. MATTINGLY (.260), MIER (.231), BAEZ (.288), and HERRERA (.323) all hit doubles. LARA had a 3 hit game while HERRERA, MIER, BAEZ, and HERRERA all had 2 hits a piece.
THE GREAT LAKES LOONS A
Cedar Rapids beat the Loons 9-5.
MILLER (L, 5-6, 4.53) saw his record sink. He went 4 innings and gave up 5 earned runs on 9 hits, 3 walks and struck out just 1 miserable batter. (Poor soul). SMIT (5.36), fared little better going 3 innings and giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits and a K. PRATT (5.70) pitched a shut out inning allowing just 1 walk and fanning 1. B oothe screwed the poocj in the last inning allowing 3 earned runs on 2 hits and 2 walks before he managed to get the tird out. The Loonie had thown in the towel before he finished.
BUSS (.269) hit his 8th HR for our losing Loonies. DELMONICO (.270), and HATCH (.277) went 2-4.
