THE ALBUQUERQUE ISOTOPES    AAA

Nashville outlasts the ‘Topes 5-4.

SCHMIDT (3.95), threw 87 pitches, 53 for strikes, in his latest mediocre rehab start.  Jason is beginning to look like next year’s project if he ever sniffs the majors again with the multiple surgeries on his blown out arm and his approaching geezer-hood.  He gave up 4 earned runs on 7 hits, 1 BB and 6 Ks.   Not bad for an aspiring lifetime AAA pitcher.  It’s the shitz for a 16 million dollar a year man.  DEBARR (7.07), pitched a perfect  inning in relief with 1 K and CHOI (L, 2-1, 2.36), drew the loss giving up 1 earned run on 3 hits and 2 Ks in his 1 inning of relief.

ABREU (.189)  hit his 2nd home run.  REPKO (.265) had his 13th double.  HU (.265), despite his fluttering eye, went 3-4 with a BB and finally can be said to have come all the way back to respectability from down-town Mendoza-ville.  Congrats to HU.  I must say, I didn’t think he had it in him and I was wrong.  REPKO also had a multi-hit game going 2-4.

THE CHATTANOOGA LOOKOUTS     AA

The Lookout game was rained out.

THE INLAND EMPIRE 66ERS    A   ADVANCED

66ers beat Lake Elsinore 7-4.

JOHNSON (W, 7-4, 3.79) got the win going 5 innings and giving up 2 eared runs on 6 hits, 2 BBs and 2 Ks. SANFLER (4.53) gave up 2 earned runs on 2 hits, 1 BB and 2 Ks in 2 innings of relief.  SCHREIBER (S, 1, 0.00), pitched 2 innings of shutout ball giving up just 1 hit and 2 walks.  He fanned 1.

HERRERA (.342), and VAN SLYKE (.313) each homered.  LARA (.254) tripled.  ORTIZ (.263), hit a double. HERRERA went 3-5; LARA went 2-4.

THE GREAT LAKES LOONS    A

Fort Wayne shut out our Loonies 4-0.

BLEVINS (L, 6-6, 4.13) took the loss despite his quality start going  6 innings and surrendering just 1 earned run on 5 hits, 1 BB and 3 Ks.  GARCIA (2.89), pitched 2 innings of 1 hit 1 run (earned) relief walking 1 and fanning 2.

The Loonies managed just 3 hits total for the game.  DELMONICO (.264), hit his 16th double–in vain.  No one managed more than a hit.
