THE ALBUQUERQUE ISOTOPES     AAA        minorleaguelogos

Memphis beats the Isotopes 8-7.

SCHMIDT (4.18) continued his years long rehab going 5 innings and giving up 3 earned runs on 7 hits, 1 walk and 5 strikeouts in yet another pedestrian outing.  Doesn’t sound like  he’s got his velocity back which is not particularly good news for Schmidt fans.  Personally, if I thought he was going to come back I would have expected his return to have happened by now.  POLLACK (BS, 3, 5.08), and DEBARR (BS, 3, 7.36), both  were lit up and charged with their 3rd blown saves of the year.  BONILLA (L, 3-6) went the last 2 innings giving up 1 earned run on 2 hits, 2 walks and 2 Ks.

JONES (.274) hit his 22nd home run.  ABREU (.254),  smashed his 3rd tater.  ELLIS  (.291),
and CLOSSER (.364) added doubles.  Only CLOSSER managed a multi-hit game going 2-3 with 2 walks.

THE CHATTANOOGA LOOKOUTS   AA

 The Lookouts were idle.

THE INLAND EMPIRE 66ERS    A ADVANCED

The Lookouts beat Lancaster (for a change) 8-5.

JOHNSON (W, 8-4, 3.82), gave the Lookouts a “quality start” and got the win pitching 6.1 innings and giving up 3 earned runs on 9 hits, 4 walks and 4 strike outs.  SANFLER (H, 5, 4.72), pitched 2 ineffective innings giving up 3 hits and 2 earned runs.  PRADO (4.03),  finished up getting the last 2 outs without giving up a run, hit or walk.

VAN SLYKE (.310), cracked his 14th home run in the second.  MATTINGLY (.257), LARA (.263), and ROBINSON (.303), all smacked 2-baggers.  For ROBINSON , it was his 25th of the season. ROBINSON went 3-4. MATTINGLY, GARABEDIAN (.270), LARA, and GREEN (.229), all had 2 hit games.

THE GREAT LAKES LOONS      A

BLEVINS (L, 6-7, 4.20), took the loss after going 5 innings, giving up 3 earned runs on 6 hits, 1 walk and 6 Ks.  BOOTHE (5.30), pitched a pathetic inning of relief giving up 2 earned runs on 2 hits and 2 walks while striking out 1.  SMIT (5.52) mopped up pitching 2 innings and giving up just 1 earned run on 3 hits, 1 walk and 2 Ks.

DELMONICO (.264), managed to swat his 17th double.  There were no multi-hit players for the Loons.
