6-09-09  Minor Leaague Report by Tom O’Shea – aka/Lawdog

THE ALBUQUERQUE ISOTOPES    AAA    

‘Topes lose 4-2.

Oklahoma City beat our Isotopes once again in another close one, 4-2.  Former major leaguer, Shawn ESTES (L, 3-4, 3.22) in his continuing effort to regain his form and receive another invitation to pitch for the big club went 7 innings and gave up just 3 earned runs for another quality start despite taking the loss. MAZONE  (8.44), and CHOI (3.07) both pitched scoreless innings of relief in the losing cause.

RF JONES (.287) must be closing in on the minor league record for consecutive games with a home run as he went yard again last night for the 20th time this season!  DH  BROWN (.314) chipped in with his 13th double.  BROWN was the only Isotope to have a multiple hit game going 2-4.

THE CHATTANOOGA LOOKOUTS  AA  

Lookouts lose 3-1.

The Lookouts lost another to Tennessee on the 9th 3-1 despite good pitching from ELBERT (L2-1, 3.61) and SARTOR (2.65).  ELBERT went 6.2 innings giving up 3 earned runs on 11 hits, 0 walks while striking out 9!  SARTOR went the last 1.1 innings pitching no run, no hit, no walk baseball striking out 3.

Catcher ROSE (.286) hit his second round tripper and pitcher ELBERT (.091) added his first double of the season.  ROSE was the only Lookout to have a multiple hit game going 2-4.

THE INLAND EMPIRE 66ERS  A  ADVANCED  

Game suspended due to power.  To be resumed 6-10.

Loons and Dayton split a twin bill each winning a game by 1 run

GAME 1 – Loons win 1-0.

EOVALDI (5.10), GUERRA (1.56) and ST. CLAIR (W, 1-0, 3.60), combined on a 3 hit shut out.

RF RUSSELL (.285) ,drove in the only run of the the game in the 8th inning.  2B PEDROZA (.290) went 2-3.  LF SILVERIO (.272), had the only extra base hit driving his 13th double of the season.

Game 2 – Loons lose 3-2.

The Loons lost last nights night cap 3-2.  3B HATCH (.267), hit his 13th double and the catcher LOPEZ (.081) added his second double of the season.  No players with multi-hit game.
