Kershaw has never pitched 9 innings. He had 42 starts in the minors and completed zero. He's probably been on a 100 pitch count since Little League.

His change up is total crap. It was effective yesterday because the Fish were not expecting it. It comes in at 84 with all the movement of a straight fast ball.

Somebody should teach him to throw a splitter. It would be a very effective pitch for him and it's really easy to learn. Imagine a 91 mph pitch that breaks straight down (like the proverbial dead duck just before it gets to the plate) or will bend a little to the left or right with finger pressure? That's a real change up!

He won't finish any games until he throws more strikes. 112 pitches, 66 for strikes, to get through 7 just isn't going to get it. But, he is very young and eventually will hit his spots. When he does, look out league.

Miguel,

I thought we might have to build it today, but it wasn't to be. We will build it in honor of his first no-hitter or Cy Young. THAT will be The Kershawshank Redemption!

Mark, when are we going to build the Kershawhankredemption website out? :-) Love that name! Ahhh, it will be a roller coaster with such a young pitcher. He has been dominating in every sense of the word on some days and just falls apart on others. But at least this was kind of expected by everyone so it does not make it feel as bad.

I think that we are all ready to hop in the roller coaster with him and ride it out because we all know that at the end of the ride we will be happy, exhilarated, and satisfied.
