The Santa Ana winds are crying outside my house right now. I think I can heard them saying, bring Manny back, bring Manny back. Give him three years and call it a day…………..
The Winter Winds are blowing here. Some lying weatherman said -15 degress. I can only hope that 2 feet of snow comes with that! I love Winter.
AnewBlueDay and I plan to be in Spring Training the whole first week of March. I’ll be ready to rest from wrestling this Winter by then! Anyone else game?
I just got back from Ohio and my Uncle’s funeral today.
He was 96 – it was time.
I have another aunt and uncle who are 96 and 97 who aren’t doing well. He fell off a ladder last week while re-moldeling the house next to his that he just bought….
Sorry to hear that Mark….
Life goes on….
Life is for the living!
Do what you you love.
Love what you do.
Our time on this earth is short.
The Dodgers need us!
Thanks Mario.
Sorry for your loss Mark.
I don’t like the timing of the WBC games. Before the MLB season just poses more risks of injury. Also takes guys away from their ST team. For Broxton, he was just named Dodger closer for 2009. I wouldn’t think he would want to be away from the team for a minute. I would prefer the games to be after the regular season – wouldn’t be much different than post season play, an extension of the season.
96? He won.
I don’t mind winters. I just hate cold weather. Here in Sedona, it has been colder than normal, snowed twice but didn’t stick, but the last several days have been sunny and 60. Love it. I spent 7 years in NW Wisconsin and you can have it from November to late April. The rest of the year was fine. A lot of people my age left for the winters. Smart move.
I too am not crazy about the WBC scheduling. In fact, I don’t really care about the WBC.
Off to see Gran Torino in the morning.
Sorry for your loss Mark.
I’m also sorry for your loss. I can only hope to make it to 96. I’m 53 and every muscle in my body hurts today. He sounds like a champion. Hopefully the Dodgers can follow in his footsteps. P.S. Go Lakers
Our rotation is set now, we just signed Shawn Estes.
The Pacers match up against the Lakers very well. They are playing them very tough tonight with the Lakers only ahead by 2 at the half. It’s a very high scoring game.
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…………
Mark, you have my sincerest condolence. Unfortunately, life is always going to end in death and no way to avoid it. I hope your family will be soothed by the memories of the good times. That’s how my family always gets through it.
Lakers win by 2. Not a pretty win but its in the books.
I hope Ol’Ned is taking advantage of this quiet time and talking to A.Dunn’s agent. I’m really tired of BorAss and disappointed with Manny and his lack of effort to reach out to the only team that apparently wants him back. The realization has to have hit him by now. 2 yrs./$45 mil is the best he’s going to get, accept it.
Not too impressed or impacted with Estes, it’s only a minor-league contract. He’s not going to be a factor. I’ve checked out Claudio Vargas a little closer and I feel he could be a dark-horse factor for us this year. He’ll replace Park and his numbers last year, in limited appearances, show he’s capable. Look at his H/IP ratios, WHIP and BA against RH. Pretty good, if he’s used as a situational reliever it could pay off.
Here’s my favorite lawyer joke:
Q: Why does New Jersey have all the toxic waste dumps and California have all the lawyers?
A: Because New Jersey got first pick.
Thanks for the kind words. We are fine. My uncle’s health declined over the last couple of years and he was ready to go. It really was a blessing. Unfortunately, none of us will get out of this thing alive…
Dying is part of living, glad to hear you guys have a good handle on dealing with the loss, Mark. My family, I believe must have the same strength and hope that your family shares. RIP to Mark’s Tio.
