12-13-07 - Baseball’s 9-11 (Black Thursday?) Where Heroes Will Die…
Today will be the worst day ever in the history of baseball! George Mitchell will release his report and heads will roll (or spin). It’s baseball’s 9-11 and some of our heroes will die. Today will be worse than the Black Sox Scandal, worse than the strike that almost killed baseball, worse than Pete Rose’s day in court and worse than the allegations and debacle that has been Barry Bonds. Today, the American Public and sports fans in general (baseball fans in particular) will be outraged, hurt, confused and dazed as boyhood heroes will die in their eyes. Let’s hope there’s no current Dodgers on this list - but I think you see some former Dodgers die in our eyes. For shame, for shame! What you do in the dark comes to the light!
